Well, March 15 marks the end of week 3 on my body recomp journey. Along the way, I’ve picked up a couple of items to help with making my workouts more effective and efficient.
First, I got the weight bench I received worked into the rotation and it’s helping with a few exercises, namely bench press, rear delt lifts, and, in conjunction with the second item helping my workouts, lat pulldowns.
The second addition was a fourth anchor point in the rafters of the basement giving my enough room to sit on the bench and do proper lat pulldowns (though, I need to figure out how to get rid of just a little more slack to give me full extension… perhaps doing the exercises with a bar instead of the individual handles… ah, maybe next week I’ll try that…) This anchor point will also help with tricep pulldowns when I get to that point as well.
Today did see a loss of a couple more pounds coming in at 326.7 for a loss of 2.4 lbs last week, and a total loss of 6.6 pounds in three weeks, consistently hitting that two pounds per week trend. At this rate, I should be at or under 320 by weigh-in April 5. Let’s hope that trend keeps up.
It was not a measure or photo day (don’t worry, I won’t subject anyone here to the photos of me, topless, in the mirror… ew.)
Sleep-wise, I slept better, but woke up Wednesday sick as a dog. I had a terrible sinus headache and sniffles and was just blah altogether. I skipped my lift that day and barely made it through work, got some better sleep that night, and woke up Thursday ready to make up for the lost lift from the day prior.
I did skip leg day and, with no yard work to substitute for it, I think that will be an “L” on that for this week, however we are going to Costco today, so I should at least get steps in.
As I started feeling better, the weather started getting cold again, our typical second winter that we see after our false spring every year here in Iowa, and now, we are expecting snow today and a high in the 20s again tomorrow… Walking Ash with any find of regularity is difficult with this kind of weather pattern. Hopefully things stabilize and warm up in the coming days so I can get back out there.
Diet is going fine, I found myself a little frustrated again with the hassle of tracking my food and didn’t track at all this last week, but I still wound up with a loss, so I guess I didn’t do too bad. I’m planning on starting back up tomorrow though so…
I did add reminders on my Breathe app so I am reminded three times a day to pause and do some breathing. By and large, I am obeying at least twice per day and twice, I did actually get three sessions in, so things are improving on that front.
Now, if I can only get my sleep back on some semblance of normalcy…
